The Alberta Community Bat Program started in 2015 through discussions with the Alberta Bat Action Team (ABAT). They are now part of Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) Canada’s Western Canada Bat Conservation Program. They have charity status as a project of WCS Canada. The project is developed in collaboration with the Alberta Bat Action Team, Alberta Environment and Parks, and numerous staff, contractors and volunteers. They have created library loan kits to communities across Alberta to help create interest in bats and promote bat conservation efforts.
